5.13.15

Hi everyone,  Thank you for all the mothers day messages I received, they were so nice, and really made my day! I feel so blessed! Like I said in letter Week 10, thanks for the influence you have  been in my life, and the example all of you have had on me of Motherhood!

Friday we were contacted by one of our Sister Missionaries that said she was in town and could she stay with us! I cleaned up the apartment, and Richard ran to the market and bought some mango juice, food and etc for breakfast, and we thought she and a friend would be there about 7. They didn't make connections, so by 9:00 we went out and bought a pizza for them, came back and finally at 11:00 they text and said they were trying to find our tower, so we ran down to the front and found them and their suitcases, and brought them up to our apartment! They were starving and loved the pizzas, we gave them a couple of sheets , and showed them where they could sleep, and we went to bed! It was way past our bed time! So good to see them and have company! After Breakfast, we went down to the lobby with them, and Richard, got a Taxi and sent them on their way! They will be back Friday night to stay with us again! I think they are staying Friday, Sat. And Sunday night, and they fly out on Monday morning!

Speaking of Mothers Day, on Sat. afternoon, Dad and I walked about 2 miles in our missionary attire, along the C-5 free way up a couple flight of stairs, then on a walkway over the freeway, then down a few flight of stairs on the other side and finally got to Out Back Steakhouse, where we enjoyed a wonderful American Mothers day meal of Salmon and Steak! We enjoyed our meal and each other, and the air-con  restaurant, then back out in the heat to repeat our walk back to Eastwood! Then that evening we went for a walk in Eastwood to get some rolls for dinner on Sunday, and we got caught in a thunder,( I have never heard such thunder, so loud and roaring for long periods of time,) and lightning storm, and rain in sheets! It was so fun, we were clear on the opposite side of town from our apartment, and had to go through big puddles, and heavy down pour, and try to walk under awnings from the buildings, we were so wet when we got home! It was so warm, and kind of enjoyable walking in the rain! Then Sunday was a Wonderful, Special Mothers Day! When we got to our church at 1:00 PM for Sacrament meeting, there stood President Mark Howard, A Mission President we served with, and became very good friends! So good to see him, and he had been waiting all day for us to show  up at Church!   Dad and I missed all of our children, but loved your  phone calls and emails, and we love you!

They are laying sod outside our building now on that nice sifted dirt, and the sod is 2 inch pieces, it is amazing, they just fit these little pieces in and pat them down, couldn't believe it! I will send a picture!

We had family home evening with the couples on Monday night, and President Howard showed up for that! It was a fun night with a good pot luck, and program, and a little visiting!  Then on Tuesday night He wanted to meet us for dinner, with the Lacanienta's! Good to see him!

We have been busy and  working with some of our missionaries on putting together a Mission Reunion this Sat.! We are looking forward to the reunion, and seeing so many of our Filipino Missionaries, and hope and pray everything turns out as planned!

We are busy, but loving the work, and happy we are on a mission! Dad is so up beat and positive, and is always complementing the Mission Presidents on their good work , even though they have problem missionaries every now and then! It is so nice being involved in making things right! I am so grateful for our daily study of the Book of Mormon together, and the spirit we feel as we continue to learn more about our Heavenly Fathers love for us! Grateful for conference talks, the church magazines, and Preach my Gospel, still so much out there to learn!  Having a living Prophet is blessing our lives, and we pray for him, and the others, especially Elder Scott and Elder Perry! Oh how we love those men!

We love all of you and give thanks to Heavenly Father for you and all you are doing, and we pray for you in our every prayer! We are so blessed, and are so mindful of our blessings! Thanks for your prayers and support! Write when you can! Love to hear about what is going on in your lives!

Love, Elder and Sister Anderson, Mom and Dad
