Hi Everyone! I guess it is spring break for a lot of you, and we hope you are enjoying your travels, and vacations! School is out here for the summer, and will start back up on June 1! It is summer in the Philippines, and it is so hot! Hope it is warm for all of you going to St George! Please be safe, especially around the water, and watch those precious grand kids, but have a good time!
We had a fun week! The High light of the week is that Richard got an office hooked up in our little apartment, so he can do what he does here at the office at home now! However, because of the accessibility of all his work, he spends so much time in his office at home! I fix dinner, do dishes, do the wash, clean the little apartment, study my scriptures, write in my journal, fix him little snacks, give him a hug and kiss every now and then and try to keep myself busy! We aren't leaving our apartment any more at 5:15 A.M. It really is nice knowing he has answered all his emails and can sleep good! We are having fun tho-, and Friday night we went to a movie, Cinderella, with Elder and Sister LaCanienta, and then out to eat, and we had a great time, and enjoyed the break, and the show!
Sat. we had a couple activity day, and about 10 couples loaded in Vans and we went to the wood carvers place to see him work and see his carvings! It is in our mission and we know him well! I can't tell you how fun it was to feel the spirit of our mission as we drove into our boundaries! It was so great to see the people in Pakil, and see the church and places we had been, and recall the things we had done there! One time we took a letter to a man that wanted to join the church with his family, but needed approval from the Prophet, all his family were baptized with out him, and we had the letter of approval, and wanted to take it to him. He was so happy, and wanted Richard to baptize him right then, they filled the font, and found some white pants, and Richard baptized him as we all had tears of joy in our eyes, to feel the feeling he felt as his sins were forgiven! The supportive ward was there to witness as well! Richard wore wet garments and wet shirtsleeves home, and didn't mind a bit! What a wonderful memory! It was wonderful to be back in our mission, and see people and places we loved so much! We had a great time with the Couples and stopped and bought some delicious mangoes and pineapple at the road side stands! It was a great day!
Sunday was Palm Sunday, and the roads were so busy, and people knocking on your car windows to buy palms, every time you got stopped because of traffic! so interesting! We went to our English ward, and enjoyed that and understood everything that was said! Richard and I had to say the prayers in Sacrament Meeting!
This week is Holy Week, and on Thursday and Friday, they close the stores, and everyone goes on Holiday! We still have to be at the office though, and I am interested to see how this Holiday turns out! All the Filipinos at this office are so excited that they don't have to come to work!
We love you all and pray for you, and hope you have a wonderful Easter, and ponder and think on the life of Jesus Christ and the atonement, which gives us hope of eternal life as a family.
