Week 13...5.21.15

Hi everyone! Today, is a day I think about my wonderful mother, and your Grandma Hatch, and Great Grandma Hatch not only today, but almost every day I think it would be marvelous to just get to talk to her, and feel of her love and powerful faith that you could feel when you were in her presence! It is her Birthday, and she was born 105 years ago today! Oh how I miss her! I am so grateful I was blessed with a Christlike  mother, who I love and admire, and who has made such an impact in my life, and in yours! She was also  a lot of fun! What a great heritage dad and mom left!

We enjoyed last Sunday with our missionary sister that stayed with us before, and she and her friend stayed Sunday night again, and left for the airport and home on Monday! It was fun to have company!

Sat. afternoon, we had a mission reunion! What a fantastic time! We had a wonderful turnout, and saw so many missionaries and met their eternal companions, and even some of their children! We had a delicious meal catered, and sat around and visited, and loved and shared the experiences we had in the mission field together, along with a little spiritual message from us! It was a great day, and an incredible success !We love them and they love us and we are all trying to be good disciples to our Heavenly Father as we continue to hasten the work!

Dad bought me a blender so we could make mango shakes and other things. I wouldn't let him buy the nicer one, cause we have to leave it here, and made him buy me the cheapest one. Well it doesn't chop ice very well, there are always big chunks of ice in the shakes! Last night I decided to crush the ice, and then blend it! I found a meat tenderizer in my cupboard, so I went to pounding, and my thumb got in the way! Ouch! I have been in so much pain! It went right through the fingernail, and into the skin! My whole hand just throb-ed all night! I had to take Tylenol, ice it and elevate it, nothing helped! It feels so much better today, with ibuprofen. It is very tender, and the skin is dark under the nail, and I have no strength in it! When it was throb-en, I couldn't help but think about Jordan and his foot! How painful that must be! I should have spent a few more dollars for the blender!

We got  a package from Emily and Susie  on Tuesday! We had so much fun getting the things we left behind, that Emily sent on, and then my mothers day gifts,a pair of pj's a night gown, music CD's, a scrubber, and some great treats! Just like Christmas! Today a brother brought in a package from Katie and Doug, and he gave dad a big bear hug from Doug! This package was a Fathers day gift from all of you, and we were thrilled with the video's and can't wait to watch them! What a surprise, and something we have wanted to do for ever! Thank you all so much! We have the best Children! We love the gift, and will enjoy them for the next 2 years! We really can't believe you did that, reviewed them, and labeled them! Thanks so much! Then later today, a package came to us that has been in the mail for over a month! Yes Angie, I finally got my mothers day gift, and our apartment is going to look so good with a little home touch! Thanks for the flowers, towels, dishrags, place mats, and cups and especially the note! It was a wonderful mothers day, and I loved celebrating it late! We also loved all the Skypes, Messages and phone calls, we love you all! We have a wonderful family!

Do you remember me telling you we were measured for shirts, so  I could be cheer leader, and dad could be manager for our travel volley ball team! We got our shirts yesterday, and the games were last night on the Courts in the MTC Parking lot! My goodness we had the vice Mayor there, and some Philippine celebrates that sang to us, they had to repeat an oath together, and then they had some instructions on how to play volleyball! It started at 5 and finally at 6:30 we were ready for the first game! Our team is the Crushers, and we did just that! It was real fun, and these people know how to have fun! They also had loud music going and a commentator with a loud speaker! It was a beautiful evening, hot but with a very comfortable breeze! Fun night! We have to cheer them on every Wed. night now for a couple of months! Our team consists of the girls that work in travel, and on the 1st floor! They wanted me to play, but you know!!! I cheer better!

Last week, Dad was really busy, because we had a sister that passed away in her mission because of  a problem that caused her to be septic, and they were not aware of it, and the poison in her body caused her to have heart failure! She was gone before we could get help to her! So sad, but because we had a death in our mission when we were serving, Dad was so helpful to the leaders and Mission President! Everyday is a new thing, and a new experience!

As you can tell we are doing great, and serving to the best of our ability! We love the work, and dad is so very busy, and probably the cutest companion a person could ever have! We are humbled every day with what we see, hear and learn! We enjoyed a session at the Temple on Tuesday, and we are so grateful there is a temple so close! Wish I had some Family names  to do! We appreciate and love all of you , and so grateful for your prayers and support! By the way , all your names are in the Manila Temple, and you are being prayed for by the faithful saints of the Philippines!

We love you all, love, Mom and Dad, Grandpa and Grandma
